The brewer's plate consisting of medallions and a small steak with beans and fried potatoes is very tasty. Very nice staff and super organized in these difficult times 👍🙂 gladly again when we are in Speyer.
Very good food. We once had the duck and the Domhoftopf (pork loin with spaetzle). It wasn't our first visit, and it certainly wasn't the last. Very nice and attentive service. Once again a really worthwhile visit to the cathedral courtyard
Briefly something to eat in the brewery at the cathedral. Very nice service, despite the fact that the "beer tent" was almost fully booked, we got two places. The usual formalities, then the ordered drinks are already there. We order pumpkin soup, 1/2 duck, and dumplings with sponges. The soups are coming soon and are delicious. After what felt like 15 min. the main courses are there. Both nicely presented and, as expected, very plentiful. We liked it, you can eat well and hearty here.
Delicious, friendly, fresh. The cream mushrooms with dumplings are a poem. Those who no longer want to sit inside will find a great alternative in a well-heated tent.
The restaurant is very popular, but this is not understandable at all. Our food was always cold. With every dish there are some ready-made / canned dishes. For example canned mushrooms. I wanted my burger medium, but that's not possible because the meat is frozen. That is simply not possible with a restaurant with this claim. Absolutely not recommendable.
We were outside in the heated tent. Food very, very good. Personnel doesn't work at all. There were friendlier people busy. It's a shame.
A wonderful dining restaurant with a great beer garden. Here, friendly and exemplary care is taken to ensure that everyone adheres to the Corona rules. On the menu you will find a very good selection of delicacies from light to hearty and tasty home-style cooking. Not to be forgotten is the delicious beer, which you can even take home with you in smaller and larger bottles and mugs. Always worth a visit!
Serving size is really small. We actually went home hungry. In addition, the side salad was forgotten and when asked it still took almost 10 minutes until it was there (can happen but in the amount it shouldn't) To do this, we had to wait over 10 minutes after asking for the bill before we could pay. Today too much went wrong to rate the cathedral courtyard positively. At these prices it just can't be.
We like to visit the Domhof. The food is very good, the staff very friendly. In summer you can sit outside very nicely. We were satisfied today too. 👍
Super friendly service, very good food and a very cozy atmosphere
As always, good food and great service. Corona concept very successful.
Super!
Very attentive service; the food was delicious and everything was fresh; good price-performance ratio
Unfortunately, I'm pretty disappointed. There were two of us visiting and we were seated at a rather unattractive table near a staircase, although all the other tables were unoccupied. This could not be changed on request either. During our entire presence of 1 hour 15 minutes, the other tables were all empty - why weren't we offered a table by the window? That is not understandable. The main reason for my dissatisfaction, however, is the portion size: the main courses are too small for the price! I come from Hessen and there is about twice the amount of meat in all decent restaurants for the same price (or even a little less). I didn't get full from eating. In terms of taste, the food was okay, but also not an overwhelming experience.
Beer very tasty. Mixed dishes, sometimes longer waiting times for the food. Staff friendly. "Locations" in the summer garden could be cleaner. We will be back. Price performance is okay.
The nice beer garden you should visit if you are in the area. It’s very busy restaurant but as the restaurant is quite big so you can get a table pretty fast.
Very impolite. Zero service minded. Seniors are treated badly. Reserved a table for 4 people. We were promised by telephone beforehand that we could use the parking lot belonging to the brewery. When we arrived - my 97-year-old grandmother and my 75-year-old handicapped father among the vehicle occupants - we got the last free parking space - and were turned away by an extremely unfriendly employee of the cathedral courtyard - reason: We would drive holes in the gravel and parking would be forbidden. I informed the gentleman that we had been assured by phone beforehand - he just said it didn't matter and we should go away. Welcome to the Domhof service desert. You shouldn't leave a cent here.
The kitchen is fabulous and the bier is awesome! Also the interior makes me remind XIX century.
Very cozy beer garden with shady trees, perfect for a hot day. The self-brewed beer is delicious and we also liked the food. The woman liked the salad. The prices are okay
Delicious food! It exceeded our expectations. We had the burger and the salmon - which was well balanced and cooked with love. And their own beer is also fantastic.
Domhof brewery Speyer Located in the middle of the city, the cathedral courtyard is in the second row. Just 2 minutes on foot from the cathedral. The Domhof is a rustic, comfortably furnished brewery with a great beer garden located behind the pub. You sit here very comfortably. Many trees give shade. At the center of the beer garden is a fountain. The staff is friendly, The kitchen is well kept and not bad. The beer 🍺 🍺 🍺 is 👍 good. All in all, always worth a visit. Parking spaces around the cathedral courtyard are unfortunately in short supply. There is a large car park (fairground) about 10 minutes away on foot.
Another delicious meal. Seasonal Angus steak with a chili jam (sweet & a little spicy. Nothing hot), sweat potato fries. Angus steak with onions and potatoes with bacon. Domhof's beer is always good no matter which one you get. Try them all!
Best beer, great food
We made reservations in advance and were warmly welcomed. The order was quickly taken at the table. The menu is very clear. Appetizer was delicious! Main course - duck very crispy and tasty! Absolute insider tip! The Palatinate can only brew beer, the light absolute disaster for me personally. ;-) Value for money a bit high - but justified! The service was friendly and courteous! The toilets had run down a bit. Still, a visit is definitely worth it!
The restaurant offers regional dishes and beer from its own brewery. The kitchen is good and the prices are reasonable. The staff is helpful. The restaurant is well attended. Credit cards are accepted.
I always end up going back to the Domhof Hausbrauerei. It's German Gemütlichkeit in the best sense of the word. They brew their own beer and the food is good. With vegetarian and vegan options. What more could you ask for?
Friendly staff. Some service ladies are dressed traditionally. It cannot get more traditional than this. Yes, the food is German here, and tasty. Bier too, it is homemade and tastes like gold. The overall place is extremely noisy but that is part of the game... I had a "Pfalzer Leibgericht" (see photo below), the leberknödel was delicious, the sausage was good, the saumagen thing OK. I can pass it next time, and will not miss it...
Great food and service
My wife and I stopped in for a warm-up and a bite to eat during the Christmas Market. We had a very nice time. The young woman who took care of us was friendly, attentive, and really took great care of us. I enjoyed their grill plate, and my wife had their pumpkin soup and the pasta special. We both enjoyed our meals, and the portions were just right. I would definitely eat here again if I were in the area.
Friendly staff, good food.
Really good
To spend time with friends, with local dishes sprinkled with a good beer, this is the place to go. Very characteristic. A must try if you are in the area. Friendly staff. Average prices.
Good food. Great beer. Very slow service!
We were completely satisfied. The food was really good and the waiters were also friendly! The prices are a bit above average, for the offered quality but absolutely fair.
Wonderful place, great service good food and fantastic beer of course!
Beer is OK. Service is very slow and bad.
This place is quaint, loud and so lively, especially if you get seats on the ground floor! One could be feeling that the understaff service is poor, not reactive and not friendly -go for the upper floor -more space and definitely quieter! The spot is known for brewing their own beers -and you should definitely go for it! The food was tasty and the portion well sized for a decent hunger. It is not possible to make a bad decision when it comes to food there -expect to wait a bit. My take: located around the cathedral, this spot is a must stop for lunch/dinner.
Staff aren’t interested unless you’re looking for a meal in addition to the beer they’re so famous for. The last few times we were there (we live locally, so this is not based on 1 visit), we had to have a lot of time on our hands as the service was slow and anything but friendly.
Visited in November 2018, absolutely fantastic. The BEST meal I had in Germany!!! I had the pumpkin ravioli which was amazing!
Very good food and beer with very friendly service!
Nice place, good food!
This is an amazing restaurant and serves some of the best beer I have ever tasted.
Beer is enjoyable, though it took about 30 minutes to get beer and pretzels.
Good food with a lot of choices (not theright place if you only eat Halal or you're vegetarian). Service is very good. Pumpkin soup is a fabulous choice!
Great ambiance, food, service and of course the beer is fabulous! 😁
Good beer and fast service!
Amazing food and beer.
Great experience. Beer was excellent. Food was great.
Great place in the heart of Speyer. Good Pfalz meal and friendly effective service.
Strolling down the pedestrian zone in the center of Speyer you can't miss the impressive Dom zu Speyer. Right next to it is the Domhof brewery. Typical German food and a never-ending list of beer choices guarantees a long enjoyable dinner. The (Gastgarten) outside seating is huge - you will find plenty of people outside enjoying the warm days of the year.
